Rawjuvenate Detox Review: Organic Super Greens & Protein Powder

Not too long ago, my door bell rang and I found myself in possession of the Rawjuvenate Detox System by Raw Green Organics. Am I the healthiest vegan? Um, no. Do I eat vegan ice cream for dinner sometimes? No comment. While I love my kale and I often eat a salad, I’ll admit, I could certainly use more healthy options in my routine, so the Rawjuvenate system is a welcome addition in my household.

The system has five components for a complete cleanse: Organic Super Green, Vegetarian Protein, Super Aloe, Super Fiber, and Super Probiotics, all of which are raw. Check out this video to see how these components work together:

I started by trying the Organic Super Green drink mix, an impressive blend of greens including Barley Grass, Wheat Grass, Spirulina Powder, and no nasty additives. The directions said 1 tablespoon of powder can be added to 8 ounces of water (or the beverage of your choice), so I thought I’d try it straight up. I’ll admit, I was reluctant to drink it. I mean, how can water and green powder taste good together? To my surprise, it wasn’t bad at all. It was actually sweet and not too earthy. In the future, I’ll add it to other beverages, but it’s nice to know that if I need to get my greens in, all I need is a glass of water and Organic Super Green. This powder is perfect for smoothies, so you can skip chopping greens and just add it to a fruit blend.

I busted out my blender to try the Vegetarian Protein powder, which is made up of only 3 ingredients; Pea Protein Isolate, Natural Vanilla Flavor, and Stevia. In to the blender went 2 tablespoons of protein powder, 8 ounces of water, banana, apple, and a handful of strawberries. A few minutes later, I was having my smoothie breakfast, and while I could taste the powder in this, it was not intrusive. It seemed to add a thickness to the smoothie that was almost creamy and I found myself feeling full after I had finished my drink. The smoothie stuck with me for hours after I was done, which means it’s perfect for a liquid meal and you won’t find yourself starving shortly after drinking it.

The Aloe, Probiotics, and Fiber supplements are all designed for gastrointestinal support, so these babies are there to keep you regular. I’m a fan of probiotics, so I was happy to see them included in the kit and these have 20 billion CFUs, which is higher than most probiotics on the market. While I tend to get fiber in my diet, it’s nice to have a supplement option, especially for those cleansing. I have heard many things about the health benefits of aloe, so I’m curious to see what affect these have over time. Overall, it’s a great system and an alternate to the many overpriced raw cleanses that I’ve seen around, so I would recommend Raw Green Organics for anyone wanting optimal health, jumpstart their diet regimen or in need of a cleanse.

I ordered this through vegan cuts, and while I like the supplements, I do not like the powders. I am very very sensitive to stevia. It gives me head aches, so I bought the protein powder with the intention of giving it to my husband- no biggies. BUT the veggie powder doesn’t have stevia listed on the ingredients or any sugar but it is crazy sweet. And tastes like it has stevia. I emailed the company to inquire about it but they haven’t replied. Not cool.

I just ordered the 14 day detox and I am just wondering if you could do 3 smoothies a day instead of meals? I have done detox’s before. Can anyone help me?

Thanks, cant wait to get started!

    • @Stacey – You can most definitely do 3 smoothies a day instead of meals. You can throw in a few different types of kale, beets, berries or veggies to mix it up a bit. However, we do not take more then 3 fiber and 3 aloe supplements a day. Email me at orders@rawgreenorgnics if you have any questions. 3. Hi, Leslie from Raw Green Organics. Sorry for not getting back to you all sooner.
@Megan – Double checked and the Stevia in the Protein is <.001%. Perhaps you had a very early batch of our protein powder. If you'd like, send me an email at orders@rawgreenorganics.com and we can figure out which lot you had and go from there. Sure don't want you to have headaches :-).

hello i am wondering do you just drink the smoothie or is it meals. And i am wondering if you have heard that with this cleanse it is possible to lose weight. What I mean is with the meal thing do you still eat a regular meal and then a powder drink or the drink is like once a day with the supplements throughout the day.

Is it safe to use these products while pregnant? I am mostly interested in the powders.

    • Jessie

I’m also pregnant and I’ve recently started adding the protein powder and greens to my morning smoothie. It doesn’t seem to have anything in the ingredients that would be bad for baby, but I’m wanting to make sure it’s completely safe. I won’t take any of the cleansing supplements until after nursing.

I wish RawJuvenate Detox would give us better guidance for this detox. Can’t simply replace one meal (usually breakfast) with a shake, eat whatever you want and have a proper detox. System does not provide us with meal suggestions or do/ don’t list. If I eat every 3hrs will this still work?

    • Cat

      Hi Stephanie,

I don’t think the RawJuvenate Detox plan is intended to completely overhaul your diet. If you’re doing the complete detox (all 5 products), you would experience the detoxing benefits by replacing one solid meal with a liquid meal and taking the other supplements as directed. Ideally, this would be part of a healthy, plant-based diet, but you can still get some benefits from it without changing your other habits, because you’re replacing part of your existing diet. Best of luck in your detox quest!

  7. Crystal

Hi, are you expected to mix the protein powder and the super green daily together as a liquid meal replacement in the morning?

    • Cat

Yes, that is one method. As we mentioned in the review, you can also simply add these to your regular diet without replacing a meal. Isn’t it great to have options?

  8. Teri

Can I do this cleanse, replacing one meal a day, and still go to work – as far as going to the bathroom too too much? Thank you

    • Cat

Absolutely! This isn’t a “flush” but rather a gentle cleanse. You may have an extra bathroom visit or two if you’re not used to consuming that much liquid in a day, but I don’t think it would be any more than if you had added a few extra glasses of water. Hope that helps!

    Is this product gluten free.

  10. Enetra

I purchased the 2 week cleanse, on day 4 now, and it’s turned my insides out. Can’t eat anything. Is this normal or should I be concerned it’s something else? I wasn’t vegan or super healthy eating habits so I suspected some ‘work’ and ‘adjustment’ to be done. I’ve been doing the combined powered shake with almond milk. Any insight on when I’ll feel normal again?? Thanks

    • Amy

      Hi Enetra,
I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing discomfort from your cleanse. That’s no fun! Not everybody reacts the same to cleanses so it is difficult to say when you’ll feel normal again. I recommend contacting the the company and expressing your concerns with them. Good luck! :)

    • Heather

Some of the supplements can cause issues. I would suggest cutting back on the pills and keep up with the powders.

  11. Oh my goodness! Awesome article dude! Thank you so much, However I am having problems with your RSS.
I don’t know why I can’t subscribe to it. Is there anybody having the same RSS issues?
Anybody who knows the solution can you kindly respond?

  12. Eli

just to clarify… this replaces breakfast, but I can also eat lunch and dinner as long as it’s raw fruits and veggies?
So it’s not like a fasting cleanse?

  13. Calvin

Hi i am going vegan and am strongly considering rawgreenorganic protein but have a couple questions
    1. Will it help with weight loss
    2. Can it be used as a meal replacement

    • Laura

      Hey Calvin,

Thanks for your interest! The Rawjuvenate Detox is formulated to help you start your weight loss journey so it sounds like it would be a great fit for you. Be sure to consult with a trusted physician if you have questions, though. That’s always the safest route!

You can indeed use it as a meal replacement once a day. Our tip: Try drinking it first thing in the morning in smoothie form to fuel you for the day, and follow the liquid meal with Aloe, Probiotic, and Fiber supplements.

      Happy health journey!

  14. This is a great tip particularly to those new to the blogosphere.
Simple but very precise information… Appreciate your sharing this one.
